Personal Best North West is a FREE pre-employment programme. Utilising the inspiration of the opportunity to volunteer at 2012 Games Inspired Events; Personal Best aims to engage and lift the aspirations of economically inactive people across the Region. This fantastic opportunity will help increase the skills, confidence and employability of those who participate. It is an exciting stepping stone that can help move individuals along the path back to work.
The programme targets learners that are 16+yrs not in employment, education or training and economically inactive. Those who complete the programme will gain a Level 1 Award in Preparation for Event Volunteering and the chance to access local 2012 Games Inspired Event volunteering opportunities. The course runs over 120hrs (delivered in a variety of formats) with 20 hrs spent in volunteer placements.
All our learners on the Personal Best Programme will be taught in a fully supportive, friendly environment. They will have a Personal Best Advisor as their first point of contact for any concerns or issues that could potentially act as a barrier for them during their learning. They will also have access to any support costs they require (childcare, travel etc) – with lunch provided to all, free of charge.
Personal Best is about helping people to realise their potential. By providing this unique opportunity to access the Olympics our learners will stand out to future employers and discover that they can achieve their Personal Best.
